SM City Iloilo joins Elderly Filipino Week

SM City Iloilo supports the community’s senior citizens with the celebration of the recent Elderly Filipino Week. In partnership with different sectors, the mall pushes for a more inclusive environment for the elderly sector. 
On October 1, 2017, the Walk for Life was held which started at SM Southpoint followed by the orientation program spearheaded by Philhealth VI in cooperation with the Department of Health VI and DSWD VI. The Golden Lolo and Lola was held last October 4 showcasing the talents of the seniors in different districts in the city.

October 5 was the awarding ceremony through the Huluaran sang Katigulangan headed by the Iloilo City Government through the office of Councilor Love Baronda. Senior Citizens from different sectors in society were given recognition for their valuable contribution to the community.
SM City Iloilo, through the SM Cares Committee for Senior Citizens Affairs, makes sure to be involved in the welfare of the elderly sector in support of uplifting their well-being and welfare.
SM City Iloilo, along with other SM malls, employs senior citizens and offer them jobs commensurate to their capabilities, such as mall greeters in SM Foodcourt, SM Cinema and mall entrances.

Just recently, the Employee Volunteerism Program was also held at the Felicidad Sy Wellness Center in Molo, wherein employees through their personal generosity, come up with resources to augment the installation of a steel fence of the terrace area of the FSCAP office in Molo to shield it from burglars and to make the area safer for the senior citizens.

GCash cautions against gambling apps used for phishing

A recent investigation by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and the leading mobile wallet GCash, has led to the discovery of certain gambling sites and apps which were used for account takeovers in the recent surge of phishing scams. Additionally, some influencers may have unknowingly promoted these gaming apps without being aware of their fraudulent nature.
