"Experience Western Visayas First Rehiyon ko, Ipabugal ko" SELFIE/GROUFIE Contest

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI tourism radio program “Tourism Academy On Air” will celebrate its first anniversary on February 2, 2015. The radio program was established to communicate and provide information to local audiences/listeners in order to develop public awareness about tourism and its impact on Western Visayas community.  In line with its anniversary and to further intensify the “Experience Western Visayas First” tourism campaign, DOT VI, through its radio program, is launching its newest tourism promotion “Experience Western Visayas First Rehiyon ko, Ipabugal ko!” The said promotion aims to encourage and inspire Western Visayans to get involved in DOT’s campaign by having a self-portrait or group photograph (selfie or groufie) in tourism destinations in Western Visayas.

Garbed in their respective long gowns created by no less than the Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2015 Chairman and Iloilo’s highly esteemed fashion designer, Alex Soncio, the 10 candidates looked regal and every inch a queen as they flashed their smile and posed before the clicking cameras in the Sta. Barbara Heights Clubhouse and Model House 1.

Megaworld expects strong growth in 2015

Megaworld Corporation, the country’s largest condominium builder, expects earnings and revenue growth in 2014 to be sustained or even exceeded this year as it continues to see strong demand for its office, residential, and retail projects. Iloilo Business Park in full swing with the on-going construction of the Iloilo Convention Center (middle) flanked by the Courtyard by Marriott and Richmonde Hotels (in blue glass cladding) and Startek BPO building. “We are over-optimistic that we should be able to match our achievements in 2014 if not exceed it this year,” said Megaworld Senior Vice-President Jericho Go in an interview. He explained, “We are accelerating and increasing our build up of township projects starting with the offices. With offices come retail and residential sales. So we’re very optimistic about 2015. I think the trajectory points to a substantial amount of growth for 2015.”
