Critically-acclaimed actress Jaclyn Jose remains a Kapuso as she renewed her exclusive contract with GMA Network last Monday, January 29. Present during the contract signing were GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil Dinagyang Fiesta with Chef Donita

Showcasing one of the most-loved dishes in the region, Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil brought celebrity chef ambassador Donita Rose to Iloilo City last Dinagyang to recreate and add heart-healthy twist to a favorite recipe - Chicken Binakol. Globe Telecom set up four Libreng Tawag, Libreng WiFi and Libreng Charging stations in Albay province following the eruption of Mayon Volcano Residents affected by  the Mayon eruption line up to avail of Libreng Tawag services provided by Globe in Guinobatan East Central Elementary School. Kicking off the series of Kapuso events this weekend are the stars of the upcoming GMA Telebabad offering Sherlock Jr. led by Ruru Madrid and Janine Gutierrez who will banner the Kapuso Fiesta on January 26 (Friday) in Robinsons Place Iloilo at 4 p.m. Joining them are their co-stars Andre Paras and Matt Evans. GMA News TV’s travel and adventure program Biyahe ni Drew won the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Tourism. GMA Network won big at the “1st Dangal ng Bayan Awards” by the National College of Science & Technology (NCST), taking home the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Engineering in a ceremony held last January 12 in Cavite. Globe seeks private sector support to build more cellsites

Globe Telecom sought private sector support in its bid to build more cell site, signing a partnership with Pilipinas Shell in line with the telecommunications provider’s initiative to enhance network coverage and capacities for better customer experience.  The collaboration would help ease challenges besetting Globe in expanding its network infrastructure. Cebu Landmasters ends 2017 with record P4.58-B reservation sales, plans 20 new developments in 2018

Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) finished the year 2017 with P4.58 billion in total reservation sales, exceeding its target by 13.75 percent and beating the 2016 result by 55.6 percent. CLI attributed its exceptional performance mainly to newly launched residential projects: 38 Park Avenue (Cebu IT Park) with 745 units, Casa Mira South (Cebu) with 3,200 units, Mivesa Garden Residences (Cebu) with 1,514 units, Mesaverte (Cagayan de Oro) with 798 units, and the 694-unit MesaTierra (Davao City). These projects are now almost fully sold. The Spark Project: Creating spark in crowdfunding

There is no doubt that “crowdfunding” has become the default avenue to raise funds for a campaign, a project, an appeal for help, and other issues that tug the heart. Globe blocks nearly 2,500 illegal sites with #PlayItRight

Globe Telecom stepped up its drive versus illegal content by blocking a total of 2,471 domains or sites in 2017 that hosted lewd content and child pornography as part of its #PlayItRight advocacy campaign.  The company has taken a stronger stance to combat child pornography by blocking websites and related content as stipulated in the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.  “As a purpose-led organization, we have a responsibility to ensure that our products and services will not be used for illegal activities.   Globe Telecom is strongly committed to help address child pornography in the country,” said Yoly Crisanto, SVP for Corporate Communications.   She emphasized that the company will actively look out for illegal sites that contain vulgar content involving children.   

Globe mobile services suspended in Quiapo on January 9 for Black Nazarene procession

In compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission, Globe Telecom will temporarily suspend mobile services within the immediate vicinity of Black Nazarene procession.  The suspension will begin 5am of January 9, 2018 until the image of the Black Nazarene returns to Quiapo Church, at around midnight of the same day. With the directive, Globe customers along the procession route may not be able to access call, text and mobile data services while the suspension of services is in effect.  Due to overlapping mobile signal from cellsites in adjacent areas, the suspension of services could affect customers in other parts of Manila and Cavite areas. The NTC directive for a network shutdown was issued upon request of the Philippine National Police. We appeal for our customers’ understanding. 


IVolunteer: Making a sustainable impact in volunteerism

Building a better Philippines takes a collective effort and not just a one-man team. But volunteering towards nation building takes a whole lot of education and understanding before one can truly grasp the whole concept of volunteerism and create a sustainable impact. Often, there are also mismatches for demand for volunteers and availability of volunteers.  These are the pain points shared by JB Tan and Bel Padlan, the people behind iVolunteer, one of the five startups which won the Globe Future Makers social innovation competition participated in by 135 individuals and groups. Globe expands Global Filipino Schools (GFS) program to 15 regions nationwide

Globe Telecom, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), is expanding the Global Filipino Schools (GFS) program to realize presence in 15 regions nationwide. The GFS program is a long-term and modern approach to education that allows 21st century learning methods to be introduced and implemented in public schools nationwide.  Around 60 schools were added to the program this year, bringing to 142 schools the total number under its fold. The program now covers 15 out of 17 regions around the country. GCash scan to pay rolls out in transport industry

GCash is expanding its scan to pay feature in the transport industry through a partnership with Emotors, Inc. Bringing ChristSMiles to Children in Iloilo

SM City Iloilo employees recently held a gift-giving program to bring joy to children in partnership with the One Meal Program and the Department of Social Welfare and Development VI. The children were treated to a story-telling session, games, mascot appearance by Jollibee, SM Storyland rides, food and were given the SM Cares Bears of Joy. The program is part of the Employee Volunteerism Program (EVP) that aims to encourage the employees to take part in worthwhile community projects outside of their work routines. The budget used for the project came from their personal efforts which are proceeds of their fund-raising project inside the office.
