The Department of Tourism (DOT) has transferred its regional office to Casa Real, the Old Iloilo Provincial Capitol last August 20, 2018.
The regional office building of DOT Region VI in Capitol Grounds, Bonifacio Drive, Iloilo City will be demolished for the redevelopment project of the Iloilo Capitol complex.
All DOT transactions including Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) travel tax collection will be entertained at the new office located at the ground floor of Casa Real De Iloilo.
“We will be transferring to Casa Real effective August 20, 2018. Prior to that date, we already transferred some of our documents and other properties needed for the department’s functions”, DOT Region VI Director Helen Catalbas said days prior to the transfer.
Catalbas stresses that there will be still some DOT Region VI staff left in the old office building to keep the incoming and outgoing communication and assist people who didn’t know that the office is already located at Casa Real.
Department of Tourism Region VI will be totally operating at Casa Real once the internet and telephone lines are already available. The DOT is hoping that this will happen as soon as possible so that the Iloilo Provincial Government can already implement the planned work once the demolition of the DOT building is completed.
