To further promote digital awareness among the MSMEs, the office of the Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship led by PA Joey Concepcion, in partnership with Go Negosyo and Globe, held a special forum on digitalization with Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu and the Angat Lahat sa Digital Alliance members.
Go Negosyo Angat Lahat sa Digital Adviser Josephine Romero and Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu together with members of the Digital Alliance and Globe myBusiness team
The Digital Alliance aims to influence and educate more Filipinos about digitalization as a way to achieve inclusive growth with micro, small, and medium-size enterprises (MSMEs). The purpose is to foster collaboration between private and public sectors in order to move Filipinos from the informal economy into the formal economy.
Josephine C. Romero, Senior Adviser to the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Philippines Chair, and Adviser for Go Negosyo Angat Lahat sa Digital Alliance introduced the alliance’s ultimate goal which is to help guide the MSMEs towards reaching a larger market, both local and international and moderated the interaction between Cu and the major players of the digital alliance.
The Angat Lahat sa Digital with Ernest Cu gathered insights on how Globe can play a key role in guiding MSMEs towards the digital economy, and contribute to the goal of Angat Lahat sa Digital Alliance towards alleviating poverty.
Globe is always at the forefront of digitalization and through its MSME arm, Globe myBusiness, the company continues to provide affordable and tailor-fit digital solutions to entrepreneurs to help them grow and succeed. At the same time, Globe myBusiness Academy was created as part of Globe’s mission to inspire, empower, and provide learning for MSMEs all over the Philippines by being a source of expertise and guidance for startup owners as well as experienced business entrepreneurs. Globe also supports the digital startup ecosystem through its wholly-owned subsidiary Kickstart Ventures, Inc.
On digitalization, Concepcion reiterated: “Digitalization is pro-poor where people from low-income communities can benefit and achieve prosperity. It creates a great impact on the lives of many Filipinos today. The digital transformation that we are experiencing with the emergence of digital platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Angkas, Grab PH, Quad X, Lalamove, Dibztech, Cashalo, among others, help achieve the goal of the government on inclusive growth and development. These breakthroughs are actually turning Filipinos into self-earning entrepreneurs by providing marketplaces for services and products.”
The event was attended by the digital alliance members and other digital company platforms
