Ayala Malls Capitol Central showcased the beauty of local independent films as they partnered with the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc. and the Cultural Center of the Philippines last August 7 - 13, 2019.
Showing of the entries of Cinemalaya 2019 at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Cinema 2 began after an opening program on the evening of August 7.
“Ayala Malls Capitol Central is more than happy to have partnered with a project that supports the growth of our country’s local film industry. We are proud to be part of a cause that not only helps filmmakers but also promotes creativity and freedom of expression,” said Stephanie Soriano, Marketing Manager of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
Now on its 15th year, Cinemalaya is the leading independent film festival in Asia. Since it was first held in 2005, Cinemalaya films have garnered several recognitions and awards from both local and international communities of the film industry.
The lineup of movies included the following: Edward by Thop Nazareno, John Denver Trending by Arden Rod Condez, Pandanggo sa Hukay by Sheryl Rose Andes, Tabon by Xian Lim, Ani by Kim Zuniga and Sandro Del Rosario, Belle Douleur by Joji Alonso, Children of the River by Maricel Cariaga, F#*@Bois by Eduardo Boy Jr., Iska by Theodore Boborol, and Malamaya by Danica Sta. Lucia and Leilani Chavez.
