The lure of the "novelty" of a bakeshop inside a hospital had me, in a span of three days, twice inside St Paul's Hospital lining up for this moist, fluffy and delicious carrot bread from Sisters' Delight Bakeshop.
But after all, the bread itself is a very big delight as the delicious aroma of this bread leaves a lingering desire to have more than just a bite.
The carrot bread in particular is baked every morning but it isn't available until the early afternoon like around 2pm. It has to be cooled to ambient temperature before it can be wrapped so as to prevent deformation and rapid moistening of the bread in its wrapper.
At times they have large orders or reservations as they are an "open secret" especially to the St Paul's community.
The bread is available for PhP 75 (price check for 2021 though) at the canteen - just turn right upon entering the main building or just ask for directions.
You'll just have to ask the people manning the mess hall since most of the time it could still be in the "bakeshop" or worse - sold out.
But better be "safe than sorry", just give them a 337-2741 to 49 local 2003 for more information or reservations (if they do, since when I called they said they don't!).
It's all worth the wait and hassle - just make sure you buy not only one so you won't be regretting it!
