SM Cinemas will be opening its doors to teachers, students, and environmental advocates, who will get the opportunity to watch various film and video materials about the environment, through the Green Film Festival 2018.
At SM City Iloilo during the launch, EMB VI Environmental Education and Information Unit
(EEIU) head Rabbie Cris Carvajal,said the GFF will feature audio visual
presentations and movies about climate change, global warming, air quality
protection, water conservation, solid waste management, biodiversity and other
environmentally-related topics.

Camarista welcomed the participants from the different schools as well as youth
organizations like the Iloilo Red Cross Youth and Girl Scouts of the
Philippines Iloilo Chapter.
The Green Film Festival is one of the many initiatives of the DENR-EMB, in compliance to Republic Act 9512 or the National Environmental Awareness and Education Act, which is now on its 10th year of enactment.
The GFF is a joint initiative of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) and SM Cinemas, in cooperation with the Department of Education, and Commission on Higher Education. The said film festival will run for 2 hours every 2 months. Screenings will be held in participating malls nationwide starting February 13 followed by April 10, June 19, August 14 and October 9.
