Get ready for a fun, festive Dinagyang Festival 2018 with Globe

It’s not even summer yet, but 2018 is off to a good start with a series of festivals and parties happening all over the Philippines. Right after the colorful Sinulog Festival in Cebu comes Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo, and Globe will once again be there to create a wonderful digital experience with parties, freebies, and upgrades!

Dinagyang is a religious and cultural festival held on the fourth Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño. It started in 1967 when a replica of the image of the Santo Niño was brought to the San Jose Parish in Iloilo from Cebu. Since then, the city has been hosting an annual celebration that includes a fluvial procession, street dancing, the Kasadyahan Cultural Parade, and the Dinagyang Ati Competition.

With all the celebrations happening this weekend, let Globe create a next-level digital experience for Dinagyang!


Customers who attend the #GlobeDinagyang Fair at Atria Smallville from January 26 to 28 can play fun games and win exciting prizes. On January 26, Globe is co-producing Love Dance, a rockin’ party that will continue the festive spirit of the celebration. Globe, in partnership with Headrush, will bring in some of Manila’s best DJs including Mars Miranda, Carlo Atendido, Deltrastreet, and more for a night of music and dancing.

At select Globe Prepaid selling areas, customers who load at least P50 and register to GoSURF can get cool #GlobeDinagyang freebies. Throughout the month, visitors to Globe Stores across the city will have a chance to get special treats. GCash cautions against gambling apps used for phishing

A recent investigation by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and the leading mobile wallet GCash, has led to the discovery of certain gambling sites and apps which were used for account takeovers in the recent surge of phishing scams.
