GMA Network wins Media Excellence Award at the 1st NCST Dangal ng Bayan Awards

GMA News TV’s travel and adventure program Biyahe ni Drew won the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Tourism. The award was received byBiyahe ni Drew Senior Segment Producer Chester Alan DG. Ebora.

GMA Network won big at the “1st Dangal ng Bayan Awards” by the National College of Science & Technology (NCST), taking home the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Engineering in a ceremony held last January 12 in Cavite.

GMA Network’s primetime newscast 24 Oras won the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Communication. The award was received by Senior Correspondent Aubrey Carampel.

GMA Network won the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Engineering. Receiving the award from NCST President and Chief Executive Officer Emerson B. Atanacio (fourth from left) is Engr. Several programs of leading local news channel GMA News TV were also cited by NCST. Travel and adventure program Biyahe ni Drewwon the Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Tourism. Lifestyle show Pop Talk, on the other hand, received the Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence for Hotel and Restaurant Management. Winning the Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Architecture was Powerhouse, a magazine show that aired from 2011 to 1016.

Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix received the Dangal ng Bayan Special Recognition for Entertainment at the “1st Dangal ng Bayan Awards” by the National College of Science & Technology (NCST).

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera received the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Special Recognition for Entertainment.

GMA Network won the NCST Dangal ng Bayan Media Excellence Award for Engineering. Receiving the award is Engr. Ricardo L. Cabral, head of GMA Network’s Metro Manila Transmission Operations Division, Transmission and Regional Engineering Department.

The 1st NCST Dangal ng Bayan Awards gives recognition to individuals and institutions that dedicate themselves to becoming agents of change and making a difference to the nation. The NCST is a well-established academic institution in Dasmariñas, Cavite and is one of the premiere colleges in CALABARZON catering to more than 7,000 students.

GCash cautions against gambling apps used for phishing

A recent investigation by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and the leading mobile wallet GCash, has led to the discovery of certain gambling sites and apps which were used for account takeovers in the recent surge of phishing scams. Additionally, some influencers may have unknowingly promoted these gaming apps without being aware of their fraudulent nature. GCash is now cautioning its users to be extremely careful when accessing online gambling sites and apps, and to avoid them altogether if possible.
