Globe Charge expands market presence in Western Visayas with Kalibo Cable partnership

The country’s leading mobile Point-of-Sale (POS) provider Globe Charge has partnered with Kalibo Cable, the most renowned cable provider in Aklan and Antique, to further boost its presence and distribution in Western Visayas.

The tie-up allows Globe Charge to reach out to more Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and help them reach their potential by being able to accept credit card payments for their business. Kalibo Cable started selling Globe Charge together with its other innovative digital and technological products and services last month.
“We are glad to have Kalibo Cable as part of our extensive distribution network for Globe Charge since we want more MSMEs to enjoy easy, affordable, and convenient way to offer different payment options, accept more customers, and grow their business,” said Xavier Marzan, President and CEO of G-Xchange, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom which operates Globe Charge.


With Globe Charge, local entrepreneurs and professionals can start accepting MasterCard and Visa card payments by transforming their smartphone or tablet into a credit card terminal.  Customers only need to avail of the Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader, download the mobile app, and apply for a merchant account. Connection via mobile data or WiFi is free with the Globe/TM SIM. Globe Charge is available for a one-time purchase for only P999, or as a postpaid bundle for a low monthly fee of P499.

Once accredited, MSMEs would be able to enjoy better rates and deals compared to banks and receive settlement of the purchases as early as the next banking day.

Globe Charge also uses the best-in-class authentication and security to protect card data at every step along the transaction process and is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a set of policies and procedures developed by four major credit card companies intended to optimize the security of credit, debit, and cash card transactions.
