The high unemployment rate in the Philippines can be linked to the job mismatch or misinformation of those applying to college. Many industries have applicants but no job openings, while other industries have jobs available, but do not have qualified applicants. With the right information, students can pick a course that suits their interests and at the same time, will develop after they graduate college and enter the field.

“We want to help the students here in Iloilo and around the Philippines achieve their dreams but we have to give them the right tools to do so,” said Massi Oracion, Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) Project Coordinator for Post-Secondary Education.
“Information is the key to making the right decisions. The lecture on the economic development is so that students know which jobs are on the rise and so that they can use it to help them decide on their career in the future,” he added.
