Megaworld to build Iloilo City’s future financial center

Megaworld, the country’s leading developer of integrated urban townships, is committed to establishing the modern financial center of Iloilo City inside its 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park. Around nine hectares of the entire township have been allocated for the commercial district. The company started selling the lots at P47,000 per square meter in 2013. 95th Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan launched in Iloilo

SM Foundation Inc.(SMFI) launched the 95 th  batch of Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan farmers training program last July 28, 2015 at Ephratah Farms in Brgy. Sariri, Badiangan, Iloilo. GXI expands Globe Charge distribution network via key retail partnerships

G-Xchange, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, has entered into a partnership agreement with four key technology retail companies in the country to expand the distribution network of Globe Charge mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution. Cebu Province youth to train as servant leaders

A thousand public high school students from more than 100 schools in Cebu province will undergo a leadership program where they would be trained before the year ends on how to be good servant leaders of the country.  The students would go through a Servant Leadership Program designed by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc – Kool Adventure Camp and are expected to create change in their schools and communities. A public high school student who joined the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc – Kool  Adventure Camp Servant Leadership Program writes down her personal improvement  plan as a servant leader. The program aims to promote the principles of servant leadership through an adventure program, establish a common behaviour and personal improvement plan for the students to better execute their roles and responsibilities as young leaders.

Sunlife and partners' Project 120 aids disaster survivors in Visayas

US-based tech entrepreneurs hold meetup for Geeks on a Beach int’l tech confab

Tech entrepreneurs, designers, and startups based in San Francisco, USA met up last July 2, 2015 at the San Francisco Airport Marriot Waterfront Hotel Lounge to talk about the Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) international tech startup confab this August 21-22. STAC Silicon Valley and Global Filipino Network organized the said meetup with TechTalks.ph and GOAB lead organizer Tina Amper, who is now concluding her rounds in the United States to whip up support for the upcoming big event. Now in its third year, GOAB was first conducted on the beaches of Boracay Island, Philippines in September 2013 where more than 300 participants attended. Globe collaboration with PNP and NBI yields series of arrests

Globe Telecom, the Philippine National Police, and the National Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged 65 alleged cable thieves and fraudsters as the drive against such illegal activities continues to intensify. Twelve individuals were apprehended and are now facing prosecution for Estafa due to illegal recontracting and subscription fraud, 31 for illegal sale of WiMax Modems, and 20 for cable theft. Atty.  Froilan Castelo, Globe General Legal Counsel, said the cases should serve as a warning that Globe, in close coordination with the help of the PNP and NBI, remains relentless in pursuing its campaign against all types of fraud that can put the company’s name in bad light and negatively affect legitimate Globe customers.

GT Cosmetics Founder is Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year

GT Cosmetics Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Engr.  Leonora B. Salvane, was awarded this year’s Grand Chamber Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) today at the Radisson Blu Hotel.  Born to a poor peasant family in Bohol, Salvane finished a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of San Carlos and began her venture into business by selling pneumatic parts and industrial chemicals. “Life was hard.  We were not earning enough for the family. I prayed hard for a business where I can practice my profession as a chemical engineer,” she said. 

Megaworld supports ‘clean and green’ program of Iloilo Port

As part of its continuing commitment to environmental sustainability, Megaworld, the developer of Iloilo Business Park, has partnered with the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) – Iloilo to promote a clean and green environment around the Port of Iloilo. The company has donated potted plants and trash bins to the port which serves to an average of 2,000 passengers daily going to and from Bacolod, Cebu, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro and Manila.  Last year, Megaworld also initiated a greening program in the coastal area of Barangay Sooc, Villa de Arevalo in Iloilo City by planting hundreds of nursed mangrove seedlings in the area that surrounds the historic Iloilo River. Globe Telecom is undisputed leader in postpaid with revenue market share of 57.8%

Globe Telecom is the #1 postpaid brand in the country based on revenue market share, the global metric used in determining market leadership across telcos worldwide. Globe posted postpaid revenues of P7.8 billion in the first quarter of 2015 versus Smart’s P3.3 billion and Sun’s P2.4 billion. Globe postpaid revenues have grown by 11% versus Sun’s 10% growth from previous year’s levels. The revenue figures show Globe has cornered the mobile postpaid segment with revenue market share of 57.8%, leaving Smart with a 24.6% revenue share and Sun with a 17.6% revenue share.
