The unveiling of 'Pagsinapol' as part of a month-long cultural celebration further reinforces Megaworld's commitment in championing Ilonggo artistry and creativity
ILOILO CITY, Philippines, July 17, 2026 — A year after its designation as Iloilo City's “Center of Arts and Culture, ” property giant Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park is reinforcing its long-term commitment as the city’s premier hub for art and culture, highlighted by the unveiling of a new
and iconic cultural landmark that represents the brand of Ilonggo artistry and creativity.
Demonstrating how the township continues to be a catalyst for cultural enrichment in Iloilo City alongside economic growth, the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park has unveiled Pagsinapol, an immersive public art installation commissioned by Megaworld and created by renowned art collective AR Sculptura, now standing at the Festive Walk Road Roundabout.
“Iloilo City is a creative city, home to so many creative people. The Ilonggos are big names in diverse forms of art, whether it is music, dance, cinema, literature, painting, architecture, sculpture, even the culinary arts. No wonder, Iloilo City is recognized as a ‘Creative City of Gastronomy.' It is a testament to how artistry, even in food, runs in the blood of every Ilonggo.
Megaworld wants to celebrate Ilonggo artistry through IBP, which is Iloilo City’s Center of Arts and Culture. This is our vision for the township–for it to become a venue to help showcase the Ilonggo arts and cultural identity, ” says Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, President and CEO, Megaworld.
Putting the spotlight on Ilonggos’ creative spirit
Derived from the Hiligaynon word meaning "coming together," Pagsinapol rises 12 meters high with a spiraling architectural form surrounding a reflective pond, symbolizing unity, collaboration, resilience, and the convergence of people, ideas, and aspirations.
At its center is a sculptural paraw gliding across the water, representing the forward journey of Iloilo's arts and culture community, while the torch-bearing figure crowning the sculpture embodies hope, progress, leadership, and the community's shared aspirations.
More than a public artwork, Pagsinapol is a lasting tribute to Iloilo City's creative spirit and to Iloilo Business Park's evolution into a place where art and culture are woven into everyday life.
The unveiling of Pagsinapol kicks off Iloilo Business Park’s month-long cultural festivity dubbedExperience Iloilo City.
The celebration features a diverse lineup of cultural events showcasing the breadth of Ilonggo talent in sculpture, painting, architecture, music, literature, dance, film, and gastronomy while providing artists with a dynamic platform to engage both residents and visitors.
