TMC Iloilo and Province Foster Stronger Healthcare Collaboration by Uplifting Frontliners Across the District Hospitals
ILOILO CITY - For many patients in towns and municipalities across Iloilo province, accessing higher-level medical care often means traveling far from home. District hospitals serve as the first lifeline for countless Ilonggos, providing dedicated care within their communities and guiding patients through the most critical moments of their health journey. And while these facilities continuously give their best, some complex conditions, such as Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), or heart attack and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) also known as Stroke, which requires rapid and advanced intervention, may need the support of an advanced care facility to ensure the safest possible outcome.
To help bridge these gaps and strengthen the smooth flow of care, The Medical City Iloilo and the Iloilo Provincial Government have formally strengthened their partnership, aligning private excellence with public service to keep patients at the center of healthcare delivery in the province. A key part of this collaboration focuses on capacitating district hospitals through specialized lectures and hands-on clinical training, empowering their healthcare team composed of doctors and nurses with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to manage cases effectively and identify those requiring specialized or time-sensitive care.
A healthcare system is at its strongest when it leads with heart. Guided by compassion and a commitment to serve communities from municipalities to barangays, this partnership is built on the belief that every person deserves dignity, healing, and reliable access to quality care. It reflects a shared mission to uplift communities through healthcare that is excellent, accessible, and deeply human.
At the core of this initiative is a renewed effort to foster stronger connections by empowering frontliners, the province’s first touchpoints in healthcare. Through clearer referral pathways, dependable specialist support, and enhanced coordination between district hospitals and TMC Iloilo, patient transitions become smoother and more timely, ensuring that every Ilonggo receives coordinated, dignified, and compassionate care.
To further support this integrated network, a dedicated referral hotline for district hospital was launched, enabling faster communication for urgent and complex cases, reducing delays, and ensuring that patients receive the right level of care exactly when they need it most.
Together, we are building a healthcare system where no one is unseen, underserved, or left behind. A future where every Ilonggo, no matter where they come from, receives the quality care they truly deserve.
