As several provinces in the central and northern provinces of Luzon are inundated by severe tropical storm Florita, GCash is mobilizing a donation drive to swiftly gather much-needed funds for households displaced by the heavy rains.
GCash is encouraging its customers to donate any amount for the recovery and relief efforts in areas affected by Florita. This can be done through the #GCashGivesBack QR code and pay bills wallet. The donations collected through these channels will be equally distributed to partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have begun pooling together resources to answer the most urgent needs of affected communities.
“GCash will always be there for all Filipinos especially during these difficult times. Once again, we knock on the hearts of our users to take advantage of the digital channels provided by GCash to donate any amount that will be a big help to families affected by the severe tropical storm,” said GCash President and CEO, Martha Sazon. “The easiest way to donate is by scanning the #GCashGivesBack QR code with GCash app. Likewise, we have set up other channels to enable users to send donations in the most convenient way possible.”
GCash users can also donate via the “Pay Bills” feature of the app by tapping “Others”, clicking “#GCashGivesBack”, and typing their information, before clicking “Confirm”. Donations will be sent to GCash’s partner Non-Government Organizations (NGO) conducting relief operations in North Luzon including the UNICEF, Philippine Red Cross, Ayala Foundation, ABS-CBN Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, World Vision, Caritas Manila, and Save the Children Foundation.
Users can also opt to scan the GCash QR code of the various NGOs to directly send funds to them.
Filipinos can download the GCash app for free on the Google Play or App Store. For more information on how you can help, visit the official Facebook page of GCash, https://www.facebook.com/
