GMA Network, personalities hailed anew at the 2018 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award

GMA Network, along with prominent Kapuso personalities, received top honors anew at the 2018 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards held last April 26 in Pasig City.


The Network once again took home the Platinum Award in the TV Network category, the highest recognition among the most trusted brands in the Philippines.

GMA News Pillar Jessica Soho, in turn, was named as the first ever Hall of Fame Awardee for winning the Most Trusted News Presenter award for eight consecutive years. Soho holds the distinction of being the Filipino journalist with the most number of Reader’s Digest awards to date.

“In my line of work, trust is not only a big thing—it is the only thing that distinguishes fact from fake, the truth from the false. Thank you Reader’s Digest for giving me this award for the eighth time,” Soho said. “Reader’s Digest will always have a special place in my heart because it not only taught me the love of reading when I was a child, but it also inspired and reminded me as a journalist to keep searching for the truth no matter what,” she added.

GMA News Pillar and DZBB Anchor Mike Enriquez received the Most Trusted Radio Presenter for the third consecutive year.

Fellow GMA News Pillar, DZBB anchor Mike Enriquez, on the other hand, was awarded the Most Trusted Radio Presenter for the third consecutive year.

“Sa pagtanggap ng award na ito sa ikatlong taon, mas lalo pa tayong na-inspire na patunayang hindi nagkamali ‘yung mga nagbabasa ng Reader’s Digest sa pagbibigay ng tiwala hindi lang sa akin, kundi sa ating lahat sa GMA,” said Enriquez. 

Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga host Ryan Agoncillo was recognized anew as the Most Trusted Entertainment Presenter.

Now on its 20th year, Reader’s Digest recognizes the “products and services Filipinos trust the most” via the Trusted Brand Awards.

GCash cautions against gambling apps used for phishing

A recent investigation by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and the leading mobile wallet GCash, has led to the discovery of certain gambling sites and apps which were used for account takeovers in the recent surge of phishing scams.
