Globe LIVE holds free Valentine concert with indie artists and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet
It’s a date!
Celebrate the season of love with Ensemble, a free Valentine concert by Globe LIVE, featuring Ebe Dancel, Clara Benin, Johnoy Danao, Bullet Dumas, and Reese Lansangan, accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet. On February 17, Globe LIVE will create an intimate space for guests to watch their favorite singers perform their hit love songs at the Globe Iconic Amphitheater.
Ebe Dancel is the former lead vocalist and guitarist of the OPM band Sugarfree. The band achieved widespread fame with their debut album Sa Wakas, which had the top singles “Telepono,” “Mariposa,” and “Burnout.”
Clara Benin is a singer and songwriter who has independently released two albums. In 2013, she was accepted into the Philippines’ highly-esteemed Elements National Music Camp. The following year, she became the voice of a popular fast food chain jingle, and won the Spinnr People’s Choice Award during the 3rd Philippine Popular Music Festival. After a year-long hiatus, Clara released a new single called “Parallel Universe.”
Johnoy Danao is an independent musician, composer, and singer-songwriter, whose albums Dapithapon and Samo’t Sari have become mainstream hits. He is known for his other creative projects, including providing the soundtrack of the indie film Senior Year, a series of gigs with guitarist Kakoy Legaspi, and a year-long concert series with fellow performers Dancel and Dumas.
Like Danao, Bullet Dumas is an independent musician, composer, and singer-songwriter. He is best known for his folk style of singing which critics have described as “raw” and “earthy.” By day, he is a high school teacher who uses music to teach math.
Reese Lansangan is a multi-hyphenate who balances singing, writing, songwriting, visual art, graphic design, and fashion design. She takes slices of life and spin them into head-bopping melodies and heart-warming confessionals that became soundtracks to anything from classroom lesson plans to full lengths movies and everything in between.
Lastly, the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet is part of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the country’s most versatile and applauded orchestras with a robust repertoire of styles, performances, records, tours, and programs.
Together, the singers and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra Quartet will present a Valentine concert that everyone will enjoy and remember, no matter what your relationship status is.
