And for its initial offering, The Centerstage presented “The Virtuosos” – a violin and piano duet featuring Jonathan Rei Dago (violin) and Rofel John Parreňo (piano).
Jonathan Rei is a Biological Sciences major in Pre-Medicine graduate of West Visayas State University. He will be pursuing his studies in Clinical Counseling and Psychotherapy in Monash University in Australia to be an aspiring mental health practitioner specializing in music therapy.
Jonathan had his formal training in violin with internationally-acclaimed virtuoso and Iloilo’s very own maestro Gilopez Kabayao (in red above).
Rofel John Parreňo, meanwhile, started his training in classical piano as young as 6 years old. Aside from playing the piano, Rofel also underwent voice training and had his first concert in 2009. Moreover, he is also a theater actor and appeared in the local adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar. As of date, he is the music director of Jaro Adventist Church.
The Virtuosos charmed the crowd with a violin/piano duet of classical Yuletide tunes as well as pop music .
The event was also graced by tenor Charlie Castor and the Mountain View College Singing Ambassadors from Bukidnon.
Robinsons Place Jaro is the 2nd Robinsons mall in Iloilo, opened last Sept. 8, 2016. The three-storey mall located along Lopez Jaena Street is anchored by Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Handyman and Robinsons Movieworld.
