U.S. Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping madness made more accessible and affordable to GCash customers

Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of the most anticipated shopping sales in the United States, are made more accessible and affordable to digital-savvy GCash customers through the international shipping provided by GCash American Express® Virtual Pay in partnership with My Shopping Box.
“This is the fourth year for GCash American Express® Virtual Pay to participate in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale and once again we’re giving our customers a better way to enjoy the biggest discounts and most amazing shopping deals from their favorite international online retail stores,” said Xavier Marzan, President and CEO of G-Xchange Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, operator of GCash.

With a waived annual fee of USD 25 from My Shopping Box, GCash American Express® Virtual Pay customers will also be able to enjoy an additional 3% rebate in their international shipments.  GCash American Express® Virtual Pay’s subscription fee for this year was also waived.

To be celebrated on November 27 this year, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving which marks the unofficial start of the U.S. Christmas season and is often associated with huge shopping discounts.  Cyber Monday, on the other hand, happens on the Monday after Thanksgiving which falls on November 30.  It also involves large price cuts from smaller online retailers.

While most Filipinos cannot go to US retail stores to participate in the shopping madness, GCash American Express® Virtual Pay customers can still avail of huge discounts from online sites of popular American brands such as JCPenney, J.Crew, Sears, and American Apparel, among others.

At the same, the virtual card may be used at any online website that accepts American Express as a mode of payment.  This includes Amazon, PayPal, eBay U.S., Zappos, Sephora, Drugstore, GAP, Old Navy, Agoda, the U.S. iTunes Store, Google Play Store, the U.S. PlayStation Store, and Steam Store.

GCash American Express® Virtual Pay does not use any physical card but is a prepaid virtual card linked to one’s GCash mobile wallet that allows customers to shop conveniently and securely online. With the service, buyers can transfer funds to their GCash wallets by cashing in from their bank account or through any of over 10,000 GCash outlets nationwide.

Likewise, GCash American Express® Virtual Pay provides a personalized U.S. address where the item can be delivered to, granting Filipinos direct access to exclusive U.S. goods. From this address, the item will then be shipped to the buyer's preferred delivery address in the Philippines.

Online shoppers can get a GCash American Express® Virtual Pay account via different platforms such as the free GCash mobile app which can be downloaded from the iTunes Store, the Google Play Store, the Windows Phone Store, or BlackBerry World.
