The Cebu Safari and Adventure Park partnered with Globe to provide campers and other visitors fast and reliable connectivity in the mountains of Carmen, Northern Cebu. The construction of the cell site accommodates guests’ needs for uninterrupted and robust telecom services.
Visitors who stay at the Safari Camp cabins can continue working remotely while their children attend online classes. Guests can also share their experiences with friends, family and the public on social media as they explore the park.
This initiative is part of Globe’s commitment to bring better mobile experiences to customers by continuously expanding its network coverage. This is also aligned with the company’s efforts to bring back its services to full capacity after the massive devastation brought by Typhoon Odette in December.
As of February 21, wireless and wired services in the Cebu network have been restored to 96% and engineers are working 24/7 to complete the restoration between end-February and mid-March.
“Globe is dedicated to bringing a first world network to the whole country. We are, therefore, very grateful to Cebu Safari for allowing us to put up a tower in their area. This provided us with the opportunity to serve not only the park’s visitors but also communities situated within one kilometer from the cell site,” said Raymond Policarpio, Head of Product Management & Marketing for Globe Business, Enterprise Group.
On the other hand, Eduard Loop, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Cebu Safari & Adventure Park, said: “A lot of our guests are Globe subscribers. We are delighted to have a stable and strong network connection to serve our guests better. The presence of Globe also made it more convenient and easier for our staff to communicate with colleagues and business partners.”

The country's premium park serves as a sanctuary for hundreds of different species of plants and animals. Its mission includes protecting biodiversity and promoting understanding, appreciation, and passion for nature. Guests can enjoy and relax in nature. They can also learn about the value of wildlife conservation and how it impacts the environment and surrounding communities.
As part of its mission, Cebu Safari creates awareness on wildlife conservation through its website, www.cebusafari.ph, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
“With online connectivity and solutions like Globe data, we can maximize these online platforms and use them to further our reach and inspire as many people as we can to visit and be involved in our conservation efforts,” added Loop.
Globe shares Cebu Safari’s environmental advocacy, being an active supporter of the United Nations-backed #RaceToZero campaign to deliver a zero-carbon world by 2050. It undertakes various environmental initiatives such as reforestation, paperless billing, responsible e-waste recycling and disposal, use of renewable energy and green solutions, and banning single-use plastics, among others.
Globe also continues to ramp up network builds to bring connectivity even to far-flung areas like the Cebu Safari. In 2021, it built 1,407 new cell sites across the country, upgraded over 22,300 mobile sites, and installed over 2,000 5G outdoor sites and in-building solutions (IBS). It also surpassed its fixed line target last year, installing over 1.4 million FTTH lines
Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, highlighting the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. It is committed to upholding the UN Global Compact principles and contributing to 10 UN SDGs.
