AirAsia is looking for young aspiring individuals with creative talents and skills in videography and photography to be part of the airline’s first-ever social media reality search called #AirAsiaCreateCamp. Cebu Landmasters sees a robust real estate market in Visayas-Mindanao

Cebu Landmasters president and CEO Jose Soberano III sees the Visayas and Mindanao property market remaining strong and robust as the company hits P2.87B reservation sales for the first half of 2017. Soberano attributes the company’s success to its grasp of the Vis-Min market and thus develop projects that the local love. This shows the strong demand for properties in central and southern Philippines, said Soberano who recently led CLI to become the only Cebu-based real estate firm to IPO. Globe begins commercial deployment of massive MIMO to expand network coverage, capacities

Globe Telecom recently began a groundbreaking commercial deployment of massive MIMO technology (multiple input, multiple output) to enhance mobile internet connectivity experience of customers in high-density areas.  The commercial deployment of the MIMO technology forms part of the company’s efforts to further improve mobile and wireless broadband internet experience of its customers by expanding on its network coverage and capacities.   The first telecommunications operator to make use of the technology in the country, Globe undertook early this year an initial testing of the technology in Makati financial district.  Based on initial test results, the technology improves capacity up to 6 times when compared to a regular site. Globe connects with MMDA for 2017 Metro Manila Shakedrill

Globe Telecom is again joining forces with the Metro Manila Development Authority in carrying out the 2017 Metro Manila Shakedrill, aimed at building on the country’s disaster management capacities in the event a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hits the metropolis. DOT VI positive to achieve 2017 target tourist arrivals

“Western Visayas will hit its 5.5-million tourist arrivals target for 2017”, the Department of Tourism Region VI Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas said positively. This after the partial tourist arrivals from January to June 2017 strikes a 2-million record. The target is more than 300,000 over the 2016 tourist arrivals of 5.193-million. Over 56% of households have no decent mobile signal in Dasmarinas Village without ODAS

More than half of households in Dasmarinas Village have no decent mobile coverage due to continued resistance of some homeowners preventing the rollout of decent telco services in the area.  This is based on a coverage map recently released by Globe Telecom. The map also indicated that without the use of the company’s outdoor distributed antenna system or ODAS network within the upscale subdivision, only about 44% are able to get good mobile signal.  According to Globe, residents in Dasmarinas who oppose the use of ODAS are violating the rights of other residents. In celebration of the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August, Breastfeeding Ilonggas (BFI) invites everyone to ‘Hakab Na! 2017’.  Now on its fourth year, Hakab Na! 2017 will gather breastfeeding families, lactation experts, peer counselors, and breastfeeding advocacy supporters, to boost awareness of the health and economic benefits of breastfeeding, promote the importance of providing proper support to breastfeeding mothers and ultimately, create a breastfeeding nation.

Globe Telecom highlights broadband, mobile connectivity in Cebu with #StreamFest at Ayala Center

In line with its vision of providing connectivity to 2 million homes in 2020, Globe At Home has started its aggressive rollout of facilities in major locations around the country. The province of Cebu is one of its key locations and Globe is working hand-in-hand with the Cebu City and Mandaue City governments for its various builds. Globe is strengthening its partnership with the local government units, recognizing that local officials’ support is essential in realizing its goal of enhancing connectivity to boost economic development in the country. To improve its mobile services in Cebu, Globe continues to ramp up deployment of LTE sites using the 700 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2600 MHz bands. Since the company gained access to new spectrum assets in the middle of last year, close to 600 LTE sites have already been activated in Cebu alone.

Six subdivisions approve Globe cell site proposals

Globe Telecom said 6 villages have already approved cell site proposals made by the telecommunications operator as part of its efforts to continuously improve mobile experience of its customers. Following positive response from homeowner associations concerned to cell site proposals made by Globe, the permitting process for the establishment of new cell sites in 6 villages is now proceeding well. Google I/O Extended Cebu 2017

JCentre Convention Hall was fully booked and action packed as more than 1000 students, developers, tech enthusiasts attended this year’s Google I/O Extended.
