Globe Platinum turns-over Noah's Ark classrooms in Aklan

When elementary students in New Washington, Aklan return to school on Monday, a Noah's Ark classroom is set to welcome them to be part of their school year 2015-2016. What used to be hollow blocks or even just sand and gravel during our first visit in Aklan last December 2014, are now classrooms ready to be used. As part of its commitment to nation-building, Globe Platinum, together with Globe Rewards, partnered with Habitat for Humanity for the construction of classrooms not only in New Washington but 6 other municipalities in Aklan namely - Libacao, Madalag, Banga, Batan, Altavas and Balete .

Startup Cloud Camp goes to Iloilo

Startup Cloud Camp, a free and fun event focused on “cloud solutions” or business services that involve the storage and accessing of your data and programs over the internet instead of your computer’s hard drive, will go to Iloilo City come Saturday, June 6, 2015.   Organized by Microsoft Philippines and TechTalks.ph, a non-profit organization for tech, business, and startup enthusiasts, Startup Cloud Camp is open to tech entrepreneurs, academics, students, and enthusiasts interested in the latest developments in the tech world. 

Cebu PB adopts Gabii sa Kabilin as official heritage month celebration

The Cebu provincial government has adopted the Gabii sa Kabilin as its official celebration of May as National Heritage Month. In a resolution passed during its regular session last May 4, the Provincial Board said it made the declaration because  “the Province of Cebu is strong and steadfast in its support in the preservation and promotion of Cebuano arts and culture through active participation and cooperation with local government units, non-government organizations, civil society organizations and cooperatives.” “Since 2007, the participation of the Cebuano public and the cooperation of various art and cultural centers in the Gabii sa Kabilin has been increasing, thus signifying the growing awareness of Cebuano heritage,” read the resolution.

PHLPost issues Archdioscese of Jaro, Iloilo commemorative stamps

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released new commemorative stamps to mark the 150 years of the Archdiocese of Jaro (1865-2015). “The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) congratulates the Catholic faithful in celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Jaro and the launching of the commemorative stamps to highlight the occasion”, Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz said.
