Globe Platinum builds "Noah's Ark" classrooms in Aklan

It was a few days before the onslaught of Super Typhoon Ruby that we found ourselves in the province of Aklan to be part of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Globe Platinum Noah's Ark project in the town of Balete. The event was attended by Globe Telecom and Habitat for Humanity executives as well as Aklan Provincial and Balete Municipal government officials, the local press, and the students and teachers of Balete Elementary School. Globe Telecom is the Development Sponsor for Aklan, one of the 14 provinces which were severely damaged by Super Typhoon Haiyan when it hit the Philippines in 2013. Globe supports the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery (OPARR), which was created to supervise the efforts in the devastated sites. 

FutureYou.ph empowers students to follow their dreams

FutureYou.ph participated in the Career Awareness Caravan organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Employment Services Office (PESO), and the Iloilo Government-Industry-Academe (GIA) Council in Leganes, Iloilo. The event was held to make students understand the economic situation and job demands in Iloilo.  FutureYou ph at the Career Awareness Caravan at Leganes Iloilo Ms. Velma Jane Lao of LEIPO discussed Economic Development in the region. Ms. Salome Siaton from DOLE weighed in on the differences between being self-employed and being employed by a company.  Also present to give the opening remarks was the Mayor of Leganes, Hon. Adolfo Jaen.
